A Sussex River Walk

The last day of the meterological summer and my original plan was to spend the weekend completing the last two stages of the Wye Valley Walk.  Two things conspired against me however.  Firstly the lower right leg injury I picked up a week ago continues to be problematic despite regular ice packs.  Secondly daughter planned to come home for a wedding of one of her friends and was hinting at a lift.  Now as your children get older (25 approaches in this case) you seize every chance you have to spend time with them.  So I volunteered...


Complicated domain v45º

The advanced seminar we held in Seattle earlier this month was very useful in developing a whole bunch of stuff, but in particular the domain models.  I need to acknowledge all those engaged in this and will do at the end of this series on the Cynefin domains.  There were three major changes, two done in the session and one by me on reflection afterwards

1. Wording and label changes on most of the domain models

2. Rotating them 45º to make the coherence path clearer

3. Stepping them so that one overlaps with the other 



Reporting back for service

I'm in danger of having a whole month without blog posts, so just as August draws to a close I thought I had better get my act together!   It has been a frantic and stressful, closing our financial year (we continue to make a profit but its been hard work with the recession) and my first full Diabetes tests being the main events.  The latter was stressing me but I am pleased to say all blood levels are now normal and I have lost 35lb in just over three months.  Anything less given the severity of the diet would have depressed me....
