...and we were singing, Hymns and Arias

By Dave Snowden  ·  March 18, 2012  ·  Rugby

Well you didn't expect me not to mention it did you?  Yesterday I went down to Cardiff to witness the third Grand Slam for Wales in eight years.  Not yet equalling the performances of Wales in the 70's as the performance between those highs has left something to be desired, but showing the potential to greatly exceed it given the age of the team and the professionalism.  We may finally have learnt to be pragmatic about winning rather than being romantic about the manner of our losses.

For the first time in those eight years I...

New Advanced Course

By Dave Snowden  ·  March 17, 2012  ·  News

I'm pleased to announce that we are running the first advanced course for Cognitive Edge methods in Washington May 7-8,  Over the last few years we have taken a large number of people though the basic course, so we hope there will be a large constituency!  I'm also looking forward to co-teaching it with Michael Cheveldave, its been too long since we worked together in training. Sea ice in Helsinki

By Dave Snowden  ·  March 11, 2012  ·  Great places, Musings

I gave an opening address last Friday at ScanAgile 2012 on the general subject of the the 3Cs of complexity.   I should say that I did not determine the title, it was gifted to me by the following speaker Joseph Pelrine.  He had the handicap of presenting Cynefin with me in the audience so I suppose it was a form of premature retaliation!  In an event I ended up with just two Cs and added in a G for varieties sake.   I have loaded the slides but there I am afraid no podcast.  The session was videoed and it will be on the ScanAgile...
